Laser Cut Product Information
  • How do they do that ?

Lasercut Designs use "Laser Systems" to precisely cut custom designs into various mediums from paper to plastics.  Conceptually the Laser system is very similar to a high quality Printer, the Laser uses a high power light beam to create the image where the printer uses ink.

Using a computer Graphics package, we convert the design to XY co-ordinates which positions the Laser precisely over the "work in process" and then the system powers the Laser to Burn the image or words into the medium, typically Paper or Cardstock.

Adjusting the Power to the laser allows it to completely cut through the medium to produce a very precise cutout image and by combining a cutting and engraving process we render the design into the medium being processed, both techniques can be achieved in 1 step.

The Overlay process typically consists of creating the "Theme"  or layout design on the foreground paper stock and then creating the photograph windows in the both the foreground & background cardstock.

By carefully selecting the color combinations of the cardstock and cutout design you can enhance the Theme bringing life and interest to your photographs.

Use of numerous Layers can  produce a 3 dimensional Overlay upon which embellishments can be arranged to create a "look and feel"  that enhances you Images and creates depth and interest.

Carefully placing other colored paper (scraps) between the foreground and background cardstock (between the Layers) produces stunning shadow & 3D effects.

By applying embellishments in key areas of  the Layered Overlay, you can create a 4th dimension, that of tactile touch or physical smells as a means of bringing those memories flooding back.

Sand and Shells can be added to the "Fun in the Sun Overlay" to create the tactile touch impact and certain perfumes or smell serums can be sprayed on the papers to deliver the 4th dimension.

Every turn of the page will stimulate those Memories and create a minds eye view of the moment in time they were created.
